Tips and Tricks for Requeson Cheese

Requeson has the same taste as Ricotta since these two are fresh cheeses made of milk. But requeson has a distinct taste that has a tropical character contaminated with orange juice and sprinkled with some orange peel making its curds creamy and loose.

Requeson Cheese

Some people want their requeson loose and moist while others want it firm and dryer. If you think that it is the consistency that appeals much to you just remove the cheese from its cheesecloth. The cheese itself will continue firming up in your fridge over time but you can also keep a bit of whey on hand and mix it with the cheese so that it will moisten up.

One tip for it to become tasteful is you need to put salt to balance its flavors. Then put it into your refrigerator until the next morning during breakfast time when you are ready to eat it. Citrusy and creamy requeson makes it great for breakfast and if you want to have a sweeter and smoother counterbalance, you can spread it with a guava paste or on a slice of bread and top it with orange marmalade. This can also taste great during afternoon snacks.
