If you do not have either handy, you can substitute half and half or whole milk. If you are making this recipe dairy-free, you can substitute an alternative plant-based milk, such as oat or soy.

The Best Creamy Salmon Pasta
- 2 Salmon fillets
- 200 grams Pasta
- 1 tsp Butter or oil
- 200 ml Cream
- 1 Yellow Onion
- 100 ml Cooking wine
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 Garlic clove
Cook Your Salmon:
- Start by preheating a pan over medium heat.
- Prepare to sear your salmon by patting it dry with a paper towel and seasoning it with salt, pepper and a bit of oil.
- Gently place the salmon on the hot pan skin side down and cook between 4-5 minutes, until crispy.
- Flip in the pan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove the filet from the pan and set it aside.
Cook Your Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of water to boil on the stove.
- Once it’s reached a rolling boil, add your desired amount of pasta and cook according to the instructions on the package (usually between 10-12 minutes).
- Once the pasta is al dente, drain it from the water and set it aside.
Build Your Sauce:
- For this step, return to the same pan you cooked the salmon in. Add 1-2 tablespoons of butter and melt.
- Add finely diced onion and garlic and saute until the aromatics are translucent.
- Remove the pan from the heat and deglaze with ⅓ cup of white wine.
- Cook until most of the liquid evaporates, and the pan is relatively dry. At this point, reduce the heat to low and add the cream.
- Stir well, taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Simmer the sauce for at least 5 minutes so that it starts to thicken and reduce.
- While the sauce is simmering, you can prepare any vegetables you would like to add to the dish by sauteing or boiling them. Once cooked, set them aside.
